InthesecondyearofJinZhenyou(1214),LiukouinspectionwasestablishedandLiukouTownwassetup.

IntheeighthyearofYongzhengintheQingDynasty(1730),theareaof​​YangliuqingTownnowbelongstoTianjinCounty.

OnDecember23inthethirty-seventhyearoftheRepublicofChina(1948),theCPCJizhongDistrictEightPrefecturalCommitteeappointedstafftostationinYangliuqingandestablishedtheYangliuqingMilitaryControlCommittee.

InOctober1949,itwassubordinatetoHebeiProvinceandwasdirectlyunderthejurisdictionoftheprovince.ItwascalledYangliuqingTown,HebeiProvince.

In1951,itwassubordinatetoTianjinCountyandwasrestoredtoacounty-leveltown.
