Sincethe1970s,economiccrisesinWesterncountrieshavebecomeincreasinglyfrequent,leadingtothedeclineofmanytraditionalindustrialsectors,suchassevereunder-productionandshrinkingproductmarkets,resultinginacontinuousdeclineintheproportionofproductionintheentiresociety.Traditionalindustriesaremostlysignsoftheprosperityofthemachineindustryaftertheindustrialrevolution.Withthedevelopmentofmodernscienceandtechnologyandeconomicstructure,newindustrieshavecontinuouslyemergedanddevelopedrapidly,suchaspetrochemicals,syntheticmaterials,electronictechnology,atomicenergy,aerospaceindustries,etc.,whichgreatlyimpactedandchangedtheoriginalindustrialstructureandmadethetraditionalIndustrialproductionstagnatedandevendeclined.However,traditionalindustriesstilloccupyamajorpositionintheeconomiesofdevelopedcountriesandcannotbereplacedbyemergingindustriesinarelativelyshortperiodoftime.Indevelopingcountries,traditionalindustriesarestillinaperiodofriseandprosperity,yettobevigorouslydeveloped.Therefore,traditionalindustryisjustarelativeconcept.Itisanimportantwayfortraditionalindustriestocontinuetodevelopandadapttotherequirementsofindustrialmodernizationbyintroducingandadoptingnewtechnologiestotransformthemandimprovetheirvitality.Intheregionalindustrialdevelopmentplan,wemustattachimportancetothetechnologicaltransformationandguidanceoftraditionalindustries,andtotheirstatusandcharacteristicsinthemodernindustrialstructure.Intheeconomicdevelopmentofmanybackwardregions,traditionalindustrieswillstillbethemainstayofindustrialdevelopment.
