Henry Harry Dell British physiology and pharmacologist (specializing in drugs). He discovered an important mechanism for chemical delivery of neural pulses.
1904, Dell was accidentally found that a fungi extract called wheat angioplasia to reverse the adrenaline (adrenaline increases the strength and frequency of heartbeat and increase blood pressure). He also found that the wheat angle contained some other pharmacological compounds, including histamine and acetylcholine.
Dell proves that acetylcholine is generally existent in animals, and it also contributes to the two neurogenic bids, namely synapse delivery god pulses. The histamine is a substance associated with a human allergic reaction. Dell's research also guided him to start studying allergies - this is a commonly non-toxic protein gradually becoming harmful for secondary exposure.
In 1936, Dell was awarded the Nobel Physiology Medical Award, and he shared this award with Otto Loewi, Australia. These two scholars are this award because of the explanation of nerve cells to communicate with each other through chemistry.
Dell wrote two books, "ADVENTURES in Physiology" (1953) and "Autumn Picking" (1954), and many other articles. During the Second World War (1939 ~ 1945), he worked for the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Wartime Cabinet. He also studied endocrine, which is the study of endocrine gland.
Dell is born in London. He studied nature science in Cambridge University in England. In 1909 he got his master's degree. In 1914, he became the Director of Physiological Chemistry and Pharmacology, National Institute for Medical Research in London. In 1932, he was taken by Zhejiang. In 1944, he was awarded the honorary medal, this is the highest civilian award in the UK.
