Type
TherearetwotypesofDVIinterfaces.OneisDVI-Dinterface,whichcanonlyreceivedigitalsignals.Thereareonly3rowsand8columnsontheinterface.24pins,oneofthepinsintheupperrightcornerisempty.Notcompatiblewithanalogsignals.
TheotheristheDVI-Iinterface,whichiscompatiblewithbothanaloganddigitalsignals.CompatiblewithanalogsignalsdoesnotmeanthattheanalogsignalinterfaceD-SubinterfacecanbeconnectedtotheDVI-Iinterface,butmustbeusedthroughaconversionconnector.Generally,thegraphicscardthatusesthisinterfacewillhavearelatedconversionconnector.
